Travel Tips

  • Always carry cash with you on the Amtrak

  • You quickly learn you won’t need as many cloths as you originally thought you would

  • Just because a child is friendly does not mean that the parents are

  • Nothing keeps the journey going like old-fashioned road trip games.

  • If you find a great travel deal…. Jump on it.

  • Never anticipate how the conversation will go with your neighbors in Starbucks

  • Trains really are just a forced mixer.

  • Small dogs can produce more **** than you sometimes think

  • Don’t ever forget how far a smile can get you

  • Travel plans are always subject to change, especially when others are being depended on.  This makes the adventure!

  • Who said that Trail Mix can’t be apart of every major meal of the day….. and it’s a sensible snack

  • Do not underestimate the motivation and dedication of a high school student.

  • Rain, snow, thunder and lightning means joy when old friends are re-united in the worst of nature’s chaos

  • Stuck is just a state of physics and has nothing to do with one’s mind set.

  • Treat counter ticketers as if you would treat your mother.  You never know when they will save your life.

  • Communication is always key….. even if both parties don’t speak the same language.

  • Be weary when a person forty years older than you challenges you to a drinking contest

  • Sometimes you must know who is guiding you to your point of destination

  • Donated cloths are not always clean cloths

  • Don’t underestimate the power of a garden rake and wheel barrel

  • Sometimes, you just have to let something lay… Whether it is a conversation or a piece of siding.

  • In every part of the day, you can remind yourself that it takes all kinds.

  • We all are friends until we get to know one another.  If we originally connected to someone, we shouldn’t let our judgement change that.

  • Never rely on how we thought a situation might turn out.  That just turns into dissapointment.

  • The universe will sometimes slap you in the face and you’ve just gotta take it.  Right United Airlines???

  • When having to sleep in the airport, don’t forget about the provided sleeping bags……. a.k.a. the large plastic storage bags.

  • Sometimes, the best exercise/diet regimens are provided for you with out you even realizing it.

  • It’s shocking how well behaved a toddler can be in a car for 30 hours.

  • Who says that fun can’t happen in Vegas over one lunch with amazing friends?

  • The very livlihood of our future rests on a cold beer and some zainy ideas.

  • Being “stuck” is only negative if you look at it that way

  • Sometimes we forget the power of a pen and a piece of paper

  • Scrumptious is really a term for when your are so hungry that you inhale everything in one bite.

  • Just because a portable tent has wheels does not mean they should be used or even work.

  • It shocking what goes through your mind when a toddler screams at you “NO!!!!”

  • Weather has no care what your plans are.  Mother Nature controls us all.

  • Unexpected revalations can come at the most expected moments.

  • Calm and collected is a ticket agent for an airline after her entire line’s flights have been cancelled.

  • Then you realize that you have been living out of one suitcase for an entire year….  pretty incredible!

  • Time apart does not weaken relationships, in most cases, it is a way to make them stronger.  I still don’t recomend it though.
